It's often faster to hand them a flashy toy, turn on a show, or say, "I'll do it."😅 But when we invite children into the everyday moments—folding laundry, watering plants, stirring batter, unloading groceries, wiping the table—we're giving them something much bigger than a job to do. Children learn through participation. Everyday routines build fine motor skills, problem-solving, coordination, and independence. Just as importantly, they help children develop a sense of competence and belonging. They begin to see themselves as capable contributors to the family. Yes, it may take a little longer today.
